Collection 4

First up…forgive the delay in this journal post. Let’s just say, life has taken hold of time and as I type this…I’m now a father. Hence the year long delay. But here we are, better late than never huh?
So for collection 4 I wanted to re look at what the output of the Tymoor and what the brand stands for. All collections prior to this have been focused on shirting, I mean after all…Tymoor started out as a shirt brand. But given the time I was designing it, shirting just wasn’t relevant for collection 4.
But that aside, I found myself moving away from shirting in my own personal style and I’ve always run this brand as an extension of myself and as a way for me to express who I am and what I love through clothing and design.
Which takes me to the design process of C4. Focused on comfort, seasonal relevance and ease of wear, I opted for a slightly monochromatic grey and white palette in heavier fabrics. The boiled wool was a perfect choice in my eyes for the Luxe Hud and Gilbert Vest. An unconventional choice for a classic staple item that every one has in their wardrobe. The hoodie!! Oversized with a chest pocket detail that almost blends in to the garment, making it less obvious due to the texture of the fabric.
the addition of the Gilbert vest was for me, a no brainer. Liner vests and tactical body warmers are a now, favourite in my personal wardrobe. From the nursery run in the morning to the night out in town, every outfit involves a vest of come sort. The Gilbert vest in boiled wool was my way of elevating the classic piece in a boiled wool fabrication but allowing it to be worn in any and every situation.
And then we have the Pon Tee and Long Pon T-shirt. The T-shirt is a must in any collection and the most worn item of clothing in the world. So how do you elevate this and give it your own spin? By exaggerating the chest pocket and producing it in a 300GSM heavyweight Ponteroma fabric. That’s how! Thanks for reading this extremely delayed post haha. I promise not to leave it so long next time ✌🏼
